How would you like to have an extra $5-$50 a month for doing things like searching the internet, watching videos, playing online games and taking surveys? There is a site where you can do all this and MORE! It is called Swagbucks. Signing up is easy. After that, there are a few ways that you can earn “Swagbucks”. After earning so many Swagbucks, you can then redeem them for gift cards or other rewards. If you earn an average of 13 points a day, you can easily do this each month! Some however, would like to aim a little higher. Here are all the ways you can maximize your time and earn all the Swagbucks that you can.
- Toolbar – I highly recommend installing the Swagbucks toolbar on your browser. It not only has a “Search” box so you don’t forget to do your searches, but you automatically get 1 Swagbucks per day just for having it there! There are other items on the toolbar to utilize as well.
- Main Page – When you first log into Swagbucks, you will see a lot of different offers. Some of these are duplicates, but some are not. Browse and see what you are interested in. They will always put videos at the bottom, so if you start seeing a lot of different videos, you know you are towards the bottom.
- Search – Each time you do a search through Swagbuck search (either on the toolbar or on their site), you could possibly win up to 20 Swagbucks for each search. On Friday it is Mega Swagbucks day and the search values are higher. They use Google and Bing as their search engine.
- Daily Poll – You get 1 Swagbuck for answering the daily poll. You can even submit your own poll question. If they use your question, you are rewarded Swagbucks! After you give your answer, sometimes they will offer you bonus Swagbucks for watching a short video. These are always 1 minute or less.
- NOSO Offer- On the homepage, you will see a checklist of three items: Toolbar, Daily Poll and NOSO. NOSO are “No Obligation Special Offers”. Each day, you can scroll through 4-5 different offers and have the option of signing up, or skipping them. Each time you do the NOSO offers, you are given 2 Swagbucks.
- Shopping– At the top of Swagbucks site, you will see all of the different ways that you can earn Swagbucks. The first way is through Shopping. If you plan to buy something online, it does not hurt to see if you can get Swagbucks for your purchase. You are given Swagbucks for each dollar that you spend. These are not credited to your account immediately, but will take a few weeks. You will also find Groupon, Living Social and other daily deal sites here. So if you find something here, you can earn Swagbucks that way too.
- Swagbucks TV– You can earn up to 150 Swagbucks each day for watching Swagbucks TV. There are different channels to pick from, and the videos are 15 seconds – 10 minutes long. There are two ways to get to Swagbucks TV. You can either click on “watch” along the top of the site, or on the toolbar there is a link to SBTV. I personally like watching it through the toolbar. You do not have advertisements to watch. You receive 3 Swagbucks for every 10 videos that you watch. If you are working on the computer, it is easy to have that going in the background.
- Swagbucks Mobile – If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can download the Swagbucks mobile app. You can earn up to 50 points each day watching videos through the Swagbucks mobile. For every 5 videos, you earn 2 Swagbucks. The nice part about the mobile, is the videos will forward automatically for the most part. You just need to keep an eye on it to make sure that it is working.
- Games – There are a lot of video games on the site. Everything from educational to race car. There is something for everyone. You can earn up to 10 Swagbucks a day playing video games. You can enter tournaments by paying Swagbucks, but there are also bigger payouts if you win.
- Answer -Survey – Under “Answer” at the top of the main website, you will find Survey, Daily Polls and Tasks. There are a few different kinds of surveys. You can fill out the targeted information, so if you have a baby in the home, you are more likely to get surveys about babies. I generally head to the Survey Dashboard where it will tell me if there is a survey waiting. This is updated frequently throughout the day, so if you don’t see any surveys in the morning, check in the afternoon. If you don’t meet the criteria, you are given 1 Swagbuck. I know that many get frustrated filling out a lot of information just to find out they did not qualify. For that reason people either love or hate surveys. I personally like them and find I get at least 5-6 surveys a week. At 50+ Swagbucks a survey, that really adds up! They recently added Peanut Surveys which are shorter surveys. I have only done a few of these. You can also try the daily survey where all surveys are worth 60 points.
- Answer -Tasks- You will also find Tasks under the Answer tab. Tasks will have you do searches on the internet or other short things and you will be awarded points later for completing them. Many do not find this is very profitable, but some do enjoy doing it.
- Discover -Special Offers – Under the next tab “Discover” you will find Special Offers, Coupons, Toolbars, NOSO, Credit Card and Activities. The first item is Special Offers. Special offers are generally just that. You give a company your information, or sign up for something and you are given Swagbucks in return. The nice part is, before you sign up you know what you are getting into.
- Discover -Coupons– Swagbucks is affiliated with Coupons.com. They will give you 10 Swagbucks for every coupon that is REDEEMED, not printed. It can take 8-10 weeks to see these credit your account.
- Discover – Credit Card– Recently Swagbucks introduced it’s own credit card. You are given 1.25 Swagbucks for every dollar that you spend. Check the site for more information.
– Discover – Activities – This is also a recent addition to Swagbucks. Encrave has partnered with Swagbucks and you are given bonus Swagbucks for watching videos and doing other activities. After you watch a series of videos, and go back to the first page, make sure it is checked off. If not, there is another series that you can still watch. I find I can earn an easy 20-30 a day here.
- Swag Codes – Throughout the day, you can check your toolbar for a “Swag Code”. It will tell you to check the blog, Facebook or Twitter. The codes are generally good for two hours. There are also websites that will post what the code is. My favorite is SBCODEZ. It will tell you how long the code is good for, how many Swagbucks it is worth and what it is. If you like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter, you will see it in your stream when a code is good. Codes are generally 3-4 Swagbucks. You enter these codes on Swagbucks site where it says Swag Code.
- Inbox – Swagbucks will also give you special emails with offers that you will not find anywhere else on their site. Make sure you check your inbox when you go to their site.
- Referrals – If you get your friends and family to sign up, you are given up to 1000 Swagbucks for each Swagbuck that they earn as well. This is a great way to earn them without doing anything.
- My Daily Goal – Last but not least, Swagbucks will give you a daily goal of Swagbucks to hit each day. If you do this, you are given a bonus number of Swagbucks. This daily goal is anywhere from 60-120 Swagbucks. If you hit this goal 7 days in a row, you are given a bonus 25 Swagbucks. Hit the goal for 14 days in a row, you are given an extra 100 Swagbucks. Hit your goal 21 days in a row, you are given 200 Swagbucks and if you do it the entire month, you are given 300 bonus Swagbucks. These bonus Swagbucks are in addition to the daily goal bonuses. These points are awarded on the 5th of each month for the previous month. If you met your goal each day for a month, you would easily have over 500 Swagbucks.
WHEW! So how much time is this going to cost you? As I said in the beginning, if you earn 13 points a day, you will earn a $5 Amazon gift card each month. Not bad for answering a few questions or doing a couple searches each day. If you really want to earn $50+ a month, I would suggest maximizing the Swagbucks TV and mobile. Do the Discover – Activities as well the Answer – Survey. Find what works for you though and with your time constraints. I have a son that will go onto the games 3 times a week and will play games to get me a few extra points. Every little bit helps.
You can redeem your Swagbucks as soon as you have enough for that reward. Basically 500 points = $5. They have eGift Cards to all the major stores. The best deal is a $5 Amazon gift card for 450 Swagbucks. You can only get 5 of those per month however. It does take about a week to turn around, so you will want to factor that in as well.
The possibilities as to what you could do are limitless. I have heard of some using their earnings to pay extra on credit card, student loans, car payments. Use it for your Christmas fund. Use this for your next vacation (PayPal is an option, so you can get it in cash!) If you earned $50 a month, over a year that would be $600. What would you do with that?
