From newspaper inserts to internet printables, there are many different sources of coupons. We have created a simple alpha-numeric system to classify and organize the coupon inserts, so you can know exactly what is on sale and whether a coupon for additional savings is available.
What are Coupon Codes?
We assign each week of the year with a coupon code, assign each coupon insert with a range of numbers based on who produced it, and give each coupon within that insert its own number.
Think of this alpha code as the address where each coupon may be found. The letter represents the week it was published and the number represents who produced the coupon and where it can be found within the insert.
There are three main inserts that come in the Sunday newspaper: RedPlum, SmartSource and P&GbrandSAVER. Here’s a handy reference guide to help you recognize which source the coupons come from:
- Coupon inserts produced by RedPlum are numbered from 1-199
- Coupon inserts produced by SmartSource are 201-399
- Miscellaneous and/or local coupon inserts are numbered from 401-499
- Coupon booklets from Walgreens (found In-Store) are numbered 501-599
- Coupon inserts produced by P&G are numbered from 601-699
- All You Magazine coupons are numbered from 900-950. To receive this magazine, subscribe online or purchase the publication at Walmart.
- Internet coupons are labeled with a hyperlinked, click-able “IC” followed by a number
- Clipless coupons (like Cellfire or Shortcuts) are labeled with a hyperlinked, click-able “CL” followed by a number
Our filing system makes keeping track of all these inserts and coupons a cinch. And you’ll only clip a coupon when you’re ready to buy that specific item, saving you time and energy.
How do they translate?
When you are in the Shopping List, you will see the description of an item that is on sale. If the item has a coupon available you will see a coupon code next to the description. For example, in the description column the Shopping List shows that Birds Eye Steamfresh Vegetables are on sale. Next to the description you’ll see a coupon code that says “M12”. You automatically know from seeing that code that you can find the coupon in your week M folder. The number 12 tells you the coupon is in the RedPlum insert.
The coupon code tells you exactly where you need to go to find the coupon. Using the codes with our unique coupon filing system means you won’t have to waste time looking for a coupon. Coupon Sense makes it easy.
